Preparing the property
The assessment should take place in an area that is safe for the horse and everyone present. When booking, describe access to the property, the animal’s usual handling and when the change was first noticed.
- Have the usual halter and handling equipment ready
- Share approximate age, routine and relevant history
- Gather tests, prescriptions and current medication
- Have someone familiar with the horse present
